Published

on

CAT3Dual Studios has unveiled its latest scenery add-on: KFME Tipton Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Located in Fort Meade, Maryland, Tipton Airport (KFME) is a single-runway public airport situated approximately 7 nautical miles southwest of Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (KBWI). Formerly operated by the U.S. Army as Fort Meade Army Airfield, the airport retains its military heritage, reflected in its FAA identifier, FME.

The scenery package offers a detailed and immersive representation of the airport, featuring:

  • Custom-modeled hangars and buildings.
  • A decommissioned control tower.
  • Custom taxiway signs and pavement decals.
  • Both 100LL (AVGAS) and Jet-A fuel tanks.
  • A segmented circle with pattern direction and FAA L807 windsock.
  • FAA L802A rotating beacon.
  • Medium intensity runway edge lights, directional runway threshold lights, REIL, and taxiway edge lights.
  • Detailed landside features, including Airfield Road and General Aviation Drive with painted lines, parking lot markings, and custom wayfinder signs.

The airport’s 3,000-foot Runway 10/28 supports RNAV approaches in both directions. Its proximity to the Washington/Baltimore Class Bravo airspace, which begins at 1,500 feet above the airport and extends to the surface toward KBWI, offers pilots a realistic and challenging flying environment.

KFME Tipton Airport is available for purchase on SimMarket for €8.99 (approximately $10.08 USD). The package includes SimInstaller technology, allowing for seamless installation and updates via the SimMarket app.
